Senior Financial Analyst - Technology

The Senior Financial Analyst – Technology FP&A plays a critical role in supporting financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making for the Technology & Product organization, partnering with technology leaders to manage budgets and evaluate vendor portfolios.

Responsibilities
Lead annual budget, monthly forecast, and variance analysis for Technology & Product labor (gross and net of capitalization), non-labor expenses, and project-specific investments
Build and maintain robust labor models incorporating SDLC phases, agile methodology impacts, and capitalization assumptions
Translate development timelines, go-live schedules, and asset design decisions into accurate depreciation forecasts
Partner with PMO and technology leaders to ensure project financials reflect scope changes, delays, and milestone completions
Analyze technology projects to determine appropriate labor and non-labor capitalization under relevant accounting standards
Track assets from design through implementation to ensure accurate start dates for depreciation and alignment with go-live dates
Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure capitalized costs are recorded and depreciated accurately
Partner with Procurement and Technology leadership to evaluate the vendor landscape, identify duplication, and recommend rationalization strategies
Track vendor performance and usage metrics to inform renewal, renegotiation, or termination decisions
Model cost savings and ROI from vendor consolidation or contract optimization
Deliver clear, actionable reporting for Technology & Product leadership, including KPI dashboards, project-level financial status, and vendor spend analysis
Provide scenario modeling for technology investments, considering lifecycle costs, depreciation, and operating expense impacts
Support business cases for transformational initiatives, including cloud migration, platform modernization, and system consolidation
Enhance automation and standardization of reporting for technology spend and capital tracking
Integrate data from ERP, project management tools (e.g., Jira, Oracle Time & Labor), and financial planning platforms into cohesive reporting solutions
Recommend process changes to improve visibility into project spend and vendor usage
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA/CPA/CFA preferred
4–7 years of FP&A experience, with at least 2 years supporting Technology finance
Working knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and financial implications in agile environments
Experience in capitalization rules for software development and related asset planning
Strong understanding of technology vendor management, contract evaluation, and cost optimization
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with tools like Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, or Hyperion preferred
Excellent business partnership and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
Detail-oriented, with the ability to connect technical project timelines to financial impacts
