CNC Programmer - 1st Shift

Responsibilities

Writing programs in the language of a machine's controller and store programs
Enter computer commands to store or retrieve parts patterns and or graphic displays
Revise programs to eliminate errors, and retest programs to check that problems have been resolved
Determine reference points, machine cutting paths, hole locations and compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures
Compare computer printouts with original parts specifications and blueprints to verify accuracy of instructions
Consistently meet and exceed deadlines for assigned tasks. Consistently conduct routine and non-routine inspection of in-process materials, raw materials and finished goods
Assist with production control responsibilities
Consistently complete work/projects in stipulated time and ensuring consistency in quality and throughput
Works with minimal supervision to accurately accomplish any given task
Assign job rates and routings
Develop and update final shop floor job packet including corresponding templates
Assists others as required

Required

High school degree or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year experience in a CNC Programming position
Knowledge of interpreting engineering drawings
Working knowledge of AutoCAD
Knowledge of computer software including applications and programming
Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend all forms of written and/or verbal instructions
Effectively able to present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and other employees of the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, angles, and volume
Knowledge of basic concepts of geometry
Ability to apply a commonsense approach and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Preferred

Associates or Vocational degree in Sheet metal fabrication, CNC Programming or equivalent experience
