Structures Design Manager ( Bridge Engineering )

They are seeking a Structures Design Manager for the East Region Transportation Business Line, responsible for overseeing all structural aspects of projects, coordinating with various disciplines, and ensuring quality and compliance throughout the design and construction phases.

Responsibilities
Coordinate all structural engineering technical aspects of pursuits and projects with other disciplines and in support of the Project/Design Manager
Interface with contractor clients through progression of the design deliverables
Ensure the structural design is completed in accordance with the contract guidelines and design documents
Establish structural scope, work plan and work schedule in support of the Project/Design Manager
Comply with company’s safety awareness program and policies
Manage groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists towards development of structural design documents and contract deliverables with minimal guidance or supervision
Assure conformance with contractual obligations by ensuring that design documents are reviewed and approved prior to release to the client
Train, mentor and develop staff and support career growth opportunities for staff
Support marketing coordination and proposal preparation. Participate in proposal interviews
Ensure that QA/QC procedures are being implemented and ensure the technical quality of deliverables. Lead responses to client’s comments on structural design elements of the deliverables
Anticipate potential budget and schedule impacts and initiate plans for alternative actions
Incorporate innovation in design and delivery
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar field + 10 years of relevant design experience in bridge engineering, design and analysis or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Professional Engineer (PE) license and be willing to obtain reciprocity in the jurisdiction of the projects
Valid US Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
Preferred
Ten (10) or more years of experience as engineer of record or structural discipline lead
Twenty (20) years of related design experience
Experience with alternative delivery methods or projects with early contractor involvement
Recent Design-Build experience serving as Design Manager or Structural Discipline Lead Engineer
