Parker Chomerics is a global supplier of EMI shielding and thermal interface materials. The Automation Engineering Co-Op position involves applying technical knowledge to assignments in process design, automation, and optimization while gaining hands-on experience and mentorship.

Responsibilities
Performs assignments designed to develop professional working knowledge and abilities that may include cross-functional experience. Assignments are at a professional level and are vital to the progress of Parker’s R&D roadmap
Actively acquires on-the-job training and knowledge of specialized scientific or engineering principles and techniques required for Parker products
Performs a variety of technical assignments to provide experience and familiarization with the technical or engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs of the company
The candidate will gain experience with all aspects of the design and build of process automation such as programming of robots, visual inspection equipment, CAD drawing, PLC, wiring, etc
Assists team members to accomplish their project assignments by completing specific analysis or well-defined portions of the overall assignment. Will gain experience with project management techniques and participates in design or similar program reviews
Attends internal trainings/meetings and applies in work assignments. Learns to apply methods, measurements, and techniques for continuous improvement
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include participation with a cross-functional project team
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in, or completed degree in related field, such as: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automation Engineering. Candidate shall have completed sophomore year with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Fundamental understanding of safe laboratory practices for product development and characterization
Fundamental understanding of statistical analysis
Ability to work effectively on a variety of scientific, engineering, and manufacturing assignments
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
