PEA Group is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience within various departments of the company. The intern will support the Geotech department by performing geotechnical testing and construction materials testing tasks, assisting technical staff, and performing construction assistance related tasks.

Responsibilities

Supports Geotech department by performing geotechnical testing and construction materials testing tasks including reviewing concrete and asphalt mix designs and visiting job sites

Assists technical staff with various tasks, including researching, compiling and evaluating project data and performing calculations for projects

Performs construction assistance related tasks including visiting job sites, inspections, reviewing submittals, and coordinating with design team for revisions

Adheres to safety protocols and procedures outlined by PEA Group

Performs other duties as assigned

Required

High School Diploma required

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited engineering degree program

Must possess a valid driver's license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment

Understanding of basic civil engineering principles, theories and methods

Working knowledge of typical computer software programs (Microsoft Office, etc.)

Self-motivated and responsible

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction

Ability to learn to prepare, understand and interpret engineering site plans, specifications and other related documents

Proficient with the use of computers including spreadsheets, word processing, engineering software and ability to prepare electronic design calculation documents
