Amazon has launched a new research lab in San Francisco to develop foundational capabilities for useful AI agents. The Member of Technical Staff will contribute to AI agent development by building and operating the frontend systems that power the research platform.

Responsibilities

You will contribute directly to AI agent development by building and operating the frontend systems that power our research platform

Qualification

Frontend developmentCloud-native applicationsJavaScript/TypeScriptPostgreSQLSoftware development life cycleUX designEngineering mentorProblem-solving skills

Required

3+ years of professional engineering experience (no direct AI experience required)
Track record of writing and shipping frontend code
Experience developing cloud-native applications and APIs
Proficiency in modern JavaScript and/or TypeScript

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Experience as a tech lead or engineering mentor
Proficiency with PostgreSQL or equivalent database in production
Keen eye for good UX design and effective patterns
Expertise across the software development life cycle, including code standards, reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Excellent problem-solving skills to move fast in a dynamic environment, with a focus on code quality, testing, and performance optimization
