Intern - Bridge Design Engineering (Summer)
The State of South Dakota is seeking an intern for the DOT Bridge Design Engineering team during the summer session. This position will assist engineering personnel with design, construction engineering, inspection support, and load rating of highway structures, providing valuable experience in the civil engineering field.

Responsibilities
Assist engineering personnel within the Office of Bridge Design with various duties relating to design, construction engineering, inspection support and load rating of structures
Gain valuable experience in the civil engineering field dealing specifically with highway structures
Primarily an office position with occasional field trips
Qualification
Required
APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
Preferred
Preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior
Preference may be given to South Dakota residents
Preference may be given to students of South Dakota institutions
