The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry is seeking an Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs. This role involves administrative and faculty duties, focusing on enhancing the clinical operations of the school while ensuring quality patient care and educational integration for students.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and high-level oversight for all clinical operations, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and university policies, safety regulations, and Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) standards

Oversee and regularly assess the quality of care across all patient care sites

Monitor patient satisfaction, manage incident reports and complaints, and ensure systems for continuous quality improvement

Supervise clinic-related staff and faculty, including hiring, onboarding, training, calibration, and professional development to support a respectful and professional clinical learning environment

Collaborate with academic leadership to align clinical operations with educational goals, including student scheduling, evaluation, and faculty accountability in clinical teaching

Oversee electronic health records and work closely with business and administrative teams on clinical billing, data reporting, and regulatory compliance to ensure effective and efficient clinic management

Required

A DDS/DMD and Missouri license or Missouri license eligibility is required

Previous leadership experience is desirable

In addition to the above, candidates for a tenure-eligible appointment should possess: Advanced teaching experience and philosophy

Provide demonstrated potential for or provide evidence of research and scholarly activity

Demonstrated service to the profession and/or participation in local, state or national professional organizations
