RN's Needed - SNF (Agency) Stamford/Norwalk/Meriden (3-11 & 11-7)
Five Star Nursing is expanding and seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for various shifts in Skilled/Long Term Care facilities in the Stamford/Norwalk/Meriden areas. The RN will be responsible for managing facility operations during shifts, ensuring proper resident care, and maintaining accurate health records while providing flexibility and autonomy in their work schedule.

Responsibilities
Makes decisions relevant to the operation and management of the facility during the assigned shift
Verifies that the resident's physician and family is notified when there is a significant clinical development in the resident's condition or if the resident requires immediate medical care
Directs proper handling of resident care emergencies
Makes rounds and consults with charge nurse concerning new admissions and acutely/seriously ill residents
Complete admission process of new/returning residents as directed by facility
Ensures the proper completion of accident/incident documentation and notification
Assists in on-going Quality Assurance of resident care and documentation
Projects the facility's image in a positive light to residents, staff and community
Maintains a positive attitude and rapport with family members
Assumes other duties as assigned by facility
Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports
Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions
Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments
Recording patient vital signs and medical information
Ordering medical diagnostic and clinical tests
Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions
Administering non-intravenous medications
Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members
Modifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses
Qualification
Required
Long Term Care/SNF Experience
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the shift, proper body mechanics required—bending, stooping, turning, stretching, reaching above the shoulders and occasional lifting are involved
Must be able to cope with the mental, emotional and physical stress of the position
Must be able to observe, listen and communicate effectively
Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, support agencies, and outside agencies
Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility
Must be able to transfer and pivot residents
Current state license as a registered nurse
IV Certified
CPR Certified
Must Have Personal Malpractice Insurance
Preferred
RN Supervisory Experience preferred (1 Year)
Computer/Long Term Care Software Experience Preferred (Point Click Care) but will train
