The role involves applying graphics to substrates, preparing surfaces, operating printers, and ensuring quality control while also designing and modifying graphics for various media outputs.

Printing

Responsibilities

Follow layouts to apply computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphics to specified substrates

Prepare surfaces for vinyl application by cutting, painting, laminating, and cleaning

Remove excess vinyl from cut images, adjusting techniques for different sizes, types, and complexities

Operate and maintain printers

Conduct pre- and post-production quality checks by interpreting work orders and proofing for errors

Laminate and mount printed materials as needed

Report inventory levels and reorder needs to the manager

Clean and upkeep storage areas

Design and produce full-color graphics or vinyl products that can be printed, mounted, or applied to substrates

Work with customer drawings and files to complete or modify designs for media output

Arrange the size and position of images and text, choose styles and fonts, and create layouts based on space, design aesthetics, and production needs

Verify job accuracy before output. Ensure material and device settings are correct for each job

Maintain and convert customer logo files as needed

Required

1-2 years of experience in sign production or graphic design preferred

High school diploma or equivalent

Ability to stand for long periods of time (4 hours or more)

Ability to lift 50 or more pounds

Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate

Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work

Ability to use light power equipment
