As a Sr. Harness Engineer, you will work closely with avionics, mechanical, and integration teams to define harness architecture and design flight and test harnesses, while also collaborating with production technicians to ensure proper installation on aircraft.

Responsibilities

Work with the avionics, mechanical, and integration teams to define the harness architecture, including routing, bulkhead planning, and manufacturing and integration processes
Responsible for the detailed design of both flight and test harnesses
Work with the production technicians and A&Ps to get the harnesses built and installed on the aircraft
Design, install, and test hardware on a remotely operated aircraft
Be an instrumental part of how our hardware teams come together on the airplane

Required

BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
5+ years experience in electrical harness design
Ability to route harnessing (both in CAD and physically in the airplane) in a strategic manner
Experience defining routing and bulkhead requirements
Experience working with connectors, backshells, EMI shielding, and cable/wire protection methods
A love of spatial packaging
Be logical, inquisitive, and eager to both teach and learn
Must be willing to travel 10% of the time

Preferred

8+ years experience in harness design and avionics packaging
Experience performing design trades for and detail design of aerospace flight harnesses
Experience with NX routing and Capital Harness Designer
Experience working with safety critical hardware
Experience working on certification-path aviation development projects
Experience testing hardware to DO-160 requirements
