Responsibilities

Empower the Director of Reimbursement and Government Affairs to develop and execute the U.S. reimbursement strategy to ensure adequate coding, coverage, and payment by Medicare
Enable the team to anticipate, influence, and respond to legislative and regulatory developments affecting patient access, reimbursement, and pricing frameworks
Support the Government Affairs initiatives and resulting strategic alliances with policymakers, CMS, Congress, patient advocacy groups, industry associations, and clinical societies to protect and expand reimbursement pathways
Support Public Affairs initiatives that strengthen the policy advocacy messages by incorporating authentic patient voices and real-world experiences
Empower the Director of Market Access to strengthen Medicaid, managed care and commercial payor relationships to influence coverage and payment decisions
Provide strategic oversight of payor engagement strategies that expand and sustain access to Coloplast products across payors
Support implementation of Medicare coding, coverage and payment with Medicaid, managed care and commercial payors
Leverage payor insights to inform commercial strategy, including targeting, product positioning, and pricing to ensure patient access and maximize business impact
Empower the Director of US Medical Affairs to lead evidence generation, medical education and clinical engagement activities that strengthen Coloplast’s scientific credibility and advance business goals
Enable team’s initiatives that create clinical arguments in support of US product claims, reimbursement objectives, and inclusion in US professional guidelines
Ensure integration of U.S. Medical Affairs priorities with global initiatives to leverage data, insights, and best practices that enhance market impact
Provide oversight of strategic health care provider relationships to support reimbursement, evidence generation, and marketing objectives
Ensure all Payors and Evidence functions operate in compliance with applicable federal, state, and global regulations while maintaining the highest ethical standards
Foster a culture of compliance, transparency, and scientific integrity across all functions
Lead and develop a high impact team across Reimbursement, Market Access, and Medical Affairs, fostering collaboration, accountability, and agility
Set bold strategic direction while engaging hands-on as needed to drive execution and ensure delivery of critical priorities
Champion cross-functional integration with Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, and Global Medical Affairs to align access and evidence strategies with business goals
Demonstrate adaptability and pragmatic leadership—balancing long-term vision with operational problem-solving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Required

Bachelor's or Master´s degree in Business, Health Sciences, Management or Health Policy required
12+ years of experience – including specific experience with medical devices and/or health policy
Proven experience to develop Medicare coding, coverage, payment strategies for medical products reimbursed in inpatient, outpatient or in the community settings
Track record of cross functional collaboration with clinical or medical affairs teams in US and/or Europe in support of reimbursement and commercial success
Minimum of 5 years of successful management experience, leading senior level management, professionals and highly skilled employees
Proactive style and a strategic business sense that will allow them to develop creditability across the organization
Ability to consistently work, manage and lead with ethical integrity
Willingness and ability to travel –30%, some international travel expected

Preferred

Experience with DME reimbursement
Understanding of clinical evidence development and dissemination process
Working knowledge of how to leverage evidence to demonstrate “value proposition” as well as coding and coverage criteria, such as “clinical utility”, “reasonable and necessary”
Experience supporting commercial teams through deployment of field-based reimbursement, medical science liaison and/or clinical education specialists
Experience in negotiations with commercial payors and Medicaid plans
Strong strategic thinking skills, ability to scenario plan, craft strategic options, prioritize and problem solve
Strong negotiation / influence skills and the ability to work at a peer-level with experienced technical and commercial experts in other functions
Ability to communicate complex information in a convincing way to non-technical audiences
Experience in building and leading teams and driving high standards for individual and team accomplishments and talent development
