Director - Supply Chain & Operations | Business Transformation
Embark is a consulting firm committed to cultivating a thriving workplace culture. They are seeking a Director for their Supply Chain & Operations Consulting Practice to lead transformational engagements, manage multi-functional teams, and drive operational improvement for strategic clients.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary engagement lead for complex Supply Chain & Operations transformation programs, overseeing multi-functional teams across finance, IT, and operations
Lead end-to-end project delivery for large-scale supply chain transformation and operational excellence initiatives, managing project P&L responsibility and ensuring profitable delivery within scope and timeline
Deliver findings and recommendations to executive leadership which drive measurable improvements in cycle time, accuracy, resource allocation, and stakeholder experience
Extensive subject matter expertise in comprehensive supply chain strategies including network optimization, inventory management, demand planning, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation
Proven-track record of advising clients on digital supply chain transformations incorporating AI, IoT, advanced analytics, and automation technologies
Expertise conducting end-to-end supply chain assessments covering procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, and distribution
Deep understanding of key supply chain and operations applications (e.g., Anaplan, Coupa, Kinaxis, o9, etc.) to inform system design and automation integration
Comprehensive knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and ERP platforms
Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools including SQL, Python/R, Tableau, Power BI
Lead continued buildout of Embark’s offering, defining services around supply chain and operations strategy, transformation enablement, and delivery architecture
Develop proprietary methodologies and intellectual property for the firm's supply chain practice —including opportunity assessment tools, white papers, industry research, strategy development, delivery playbooks, and ROI models
Stay current on supply chain trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to ensure our offerings remain cutting-edge and outcome-focused
Support proposal development, solution scoping, and client presentations for supply chain and operations-focused initiatives
Develop and maintain strong client relationships to identify new opportunities and support ongoing transformation journeys
Leverage your personal and professional network to generate leads and drive new business aligned to our operations transformation practice
Represent the firm in the marketplace through participation in conferences, webinars, and thought leadership initiatives
Serve as a people leader and culture carrier, mentoring consultants and managers across career development, delivery excellence, and client relationships
Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and feedback-driven team environment that emphasizes innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement
Lead internal training sessions on supply chain and operations transformation, operations strategy, and supply chain technologies to build team capability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Accounting, MIS, or related field
10+ years of progressive experience in management consulting (Big 4 or similar) or a transformation role within a supply chain and operations organization
Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end project delivery for large-scale supply chain transformation and operational excellence initiatives or business process optimization
Working knowledge of automation tools and frameworks (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, Alteryx) and how to apply them within supply chain and operations functions
Proven ability to advise and influence executive stakeholders including COOs, CPOs, CIOs, and other senior supply chain and operations executives
Preferred
MBA, or Masters degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or related field
Professional certifications (APICS SCOR, CPSM, Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, or equivalent)
Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies, PMO best practices, and transformation enablement
Experience supporting PE-backed or high-growth clients through supply chain and operations maturity assessments and transformation strategy development
