Responsibilities
The postdoctoral fellows will have the opportunity to collaborate with MCH faculty and postdoctoral fellows in other MCHB-funded programs, as well as with Title V and other MCH organizations and partners locally, regionally, and nationwide
Fellows will be expected to further their research by developing grant proposals with faculty and publishing in the peer-reviewed literature, in addition to collaborating with ongoing MCH faculty research
Support for professional conferences and other dissemination activities will be provided
Fellows will teach one or two undergraduate/graduate classes per year and participate/lead other seminars and training events
Qualification
Required
Doctoral degree in maternal and child health, social/behavioral sciences, epidemiology, public health, or a closely related field to be earned prior to hiring date
Publication record in peer-reviewed journals of recognized excellence
Teaching experience (may be as a teaching assistant or in another instructional capacity)
Applicants must have current, permanent work authorization in the United States that does not and will not require employer sponsorship, visa transfer, or future work authorization support
This position is not eligible for employment-based visa sponsorship (including but not limited to H-1B, H-2, O-1, TN/TD) or employment-based permanent residency sponsorship
Candidates whose authorization to work in the U.S. is dependent on employer sponsorship (whether now or in the future) will not be considered
Preferred
Defined research focus including (but not limited to) maternal/infant health, child/adolescent health, women's health, sexual/reproductive health, family/community violence, and unintentional injury
Unique skillsets in advanced quantitative/qualitative research methodologies, MCH practice/policy development, epidemiology, health education/promotion, dissemination and implementation science, health literacy, social marketing, translational research, community engagement, quality improvement, and/or new technology
Established record of scholarly research
Enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring graduate students
