Cuyahoga Community College is seeking an Associate Instructional Assistant for their Veterinary Technology program. This role provides academic support to students through supervision of homework and practice labs, individual tutoring, and assistance in developing educational action plans.

Responsibilities

Directly supervises Veterinary Technology Program students’ homework and practice labs ensuring adherence to lab rules, policies and procedures
Ensures that the lab provides a safe learning environment
Assists in the development of educational action plans
Assists with individual and/or small group tutoring sessions
Works with and/or demonstrates various types of audio-visual materials, computer applications, and other materials or delivery systems used in an instructional program
Assists in the recruitment and retention of program students
May supervise Work-Study students and Student Assistants
Visits classes or consults with faculty as needed
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Associate's Degree in Animal Health or Veterinary Technology
Current and active RVT certification in the State of Ohio
Minimum one year of clinical experience with Veterinary Technology
Possess working knowledge of Veterinary Technology concepts with the ability to apply in various situations
Demonstrated knowledge of exemplary instructional methods and practices
Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to foster a team environment and work collaboratively
Demonstrated commitment to providing exemplary customer service
Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Proficiency in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and counseling
Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of the students and the community
