Responsibilities

Prior experience driving high power laser development, design, thermal management
Experience working with laser device vendors as well as pluggable module assembly vendors
Analyze experimental results to improve the design or model
Device experience in DFB lasers, III-V semiconductors
In-depth knowledge of laser module fabrication
Work as a team to propose new laser designs and provide support to design optimizations

Required

Proven track record of delivering innovative photonics and Laser module solution from concept to production
Proven track record of driving technology development in the semiconductor field
Leadership experience driving engineering teams in architecture definition, process definition and/or yield improvement
Excellent oral and written communication skills to share complex signals/recommendations with technology partners, colleagues, product architects and AMD management
Prior experience driving high power laser development, design, thermal management
Experience working with laser device vendors as well as pluggable module assembly vendors
Analyze experimental results to improve the design or model
Device experience in DFB lasers, III-V semiconductors
In-depth knowledge of laser module fabrication
Work as a team to propose new laser designs and provide support to design optimizations
BS/MS/PhD in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

Preferred

Preferably having previous design experiences in one or more of the following areas: high-speed laser, electro absorption modulated laser (EML), vertical cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL), and high-power laser
Laser testing and characterization experience is a plus
Fully understand theories of semiconductor laser, photodetectors, and other optoelectronic devices
Significant experience in semiconductor technology development role with laser design is preferred
Proven experience working with manufacturing partners such as suppliers, OSATs and foundry partners
Knowledge of basic semiconductor device fabrication process is a plus
Experience in a leadership role driving cross-functional teams
