Responsibilities

Provide histological services to the Dermatology Department and to the main Histology Lab

Ensure that tissue specimens are optimally processed, oriented and embedded appropriately during MOHS procedures

Log-in specimens to the computer, process, embed, perform frozen sections, sort, cut, file, prepare reagents, and perform special stains and staining slides of tissue samples

Perform general paperwork, equipment maintenance, assist with quality control and assurance metrics, procedural audits, accreditation preparation, training and troubleshoot both mechanical and human errors and/or malfunctions

Required

Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required

HTL or other technologist-level special laboratory certification required

Requires successful completion of a background check

Preferred

graduate of a NAACLS accredited histotechnician or histotechnologist program preferred

at least three year to five years experience in a histology laboratory preferred

Prefer MOHs experience
