Responsibilities

Perform molecular biology techniques, ex vivo and in vivo (mouse) studies to develop targeted approaches to overcome resistance to targeted therapies in oncogene driven lung cancer and develop targeted approaches for the treatment of brain metastases. With the goal of translating these finding to clinical trials for NSCLC
Trains junior staff in molecular biology techniques, ex vivo and in vivo (mouse) studies
Documents, analyzes and interprets data for presentations, manuscripts, grant requirements (current or new), etc
Participates in TORCH lab meetings, journal clubs and other relevant university oncology or immunotherapy meetings
Prepares and presents at professional conferences, as well as attending to expand on knowledge base and potential collaborations

Required

A Doctoral degree in a biological sciences field is required
Experience in molecular biology techniques and in vivo work with mouse models is required
Extensive experience in cancer biology, in vivo studies (mouse), and molecular biology techniques is necessary
Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen

Trains junior staff in molecular biology techniques, ex vivo and in vivo (mouse) studies

A strong willingness to work in a team environment is essential
Contribute to TORCH with both expertise and insight into development of collaborative projects, improving upon and troubleshooting current projects

Preferred

Experience in metastases and/or metabolism preferred
Cancer biology and/or metabolism preferred
1-2 years post-doctoral laboratory experience in cancer biology and/or cell signaling/metabolism preferred
