Kalon Executive Search for Nutraceuticals, CPG and Wellness is representing a fast-growing, AI-driven insights platform focused on consumer health. The Director of Business Development will drive new business and expand partnerships with brands in the nutraceuticals and supplements space, utilizing a consultative sales approach.

Responsibilities
Drive new business with ingredient suppliers, nutraceutical brands, functional food/beverage companies, and health-focused CPG organizations, with an emphasis on opening new logos and expanding high-potential strategic accounts
Sell subscription-based access to their AI-powered insights platform, along with customized research and analysis services
Lead technical, consultative sales conversations with R&D, innovation, operations, and marketing teams, translating complex needs into scoped projects and commercially viable proposals
Represent the company at key trade shows, industry conferences, and on-site client meetings, proactively building a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities across target segments
Partner closely with internal technical, CDMO, and leadership teams to shape offerings, refine pricing and packaging, and identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities
Qualification
Required
7+ years in sales or business development within nutraceuticals, ingredients, health and wellness, or food & beverage CPG, ideally with experience selling CDMO, technical services, or other intangible/solution-based offerings
Established network and existing relationships with key accounts in nutraceuticals, branded ingredients, sports nutrition, and/or health-focused CPG, with a clear hunter track record opening new doors
Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding new business revenue goals, including originating and closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals
Smart, technically minded sales professional comfortable in technical project discussions, able to bridge scientific, operational, and commercial perspectives in a consultative sales process
Entrepreneurial self-starter with a hunter mentality who thrives in dynamic, high-growth, team-oriented environments and is motivated by building something in a competitive, relationship-driven market
