Responsibilities

Writing and publishing research in high quality peer reviewed, scientific journals

Attending and making presentations of research at national and international scientific conferences

Developing national and international scholarly reputation

Instructing and mentoring junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, and residents and fellow trainees

Participates in department, college, and university committees and initiatives

Conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements, and conducts research studies in the area of rheumatic autoimmune diseases

Develops and writes grant proposals to maintain funding to support research program

Obtains and maintains NIH R01 or equivalent funding

Qualification

Doctoral degree in ImmunologyHigh-level publicationsPeer-reviewed research fundingResearch in autoimmune diseasesMentoring junior scientistsGrant proposal writingPresentation skills

Required

Doctoral degree in Immunology or related field (MD or MD/PhD)

A strong track record of high-level publications

A strong track record of ongoing robust peer-reviewed research funding -- NIH R01 or equivalent funding
