Responsibilities
Perform engineering tasks in the field, office, and lab under the supervision of senior engineers and managers
Support and carry out non-destructive testing, evaluation, and reporting as it relates to transportation infrastructure
Assist in other areas of work, especially Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE)
Execute NDT/NDE projects, QC/QA of NDT engineering design projects, and assist with project management
Conduct site reconnaissance visits and perform NDT testing
Evaluate the existing condition of pavements and locate subsurface utilities
Analyze conventional and NDT test data (e.g., analysis of GPR data, LCMS and back calculation of FWD data)
Prepare proposals and compile cost estimates, invoices, and project reports
Supervise other staff members, including NDT Technicians
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field (Master's degree or higher is preferred)
At least 4 plus years of experience in NDT fields
Strong proficiency in CI/ASCE 38-22 standards and technical utility investigation
Expertise in geophysical testing and analysis methods, including EMI and GPR
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and GPR software (e.g., IDS-IQ Maps)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., MATLAB or Python) is needed
Preferred
A minimum of 2 years in management or leadership role is a plus
Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey and/or New York is preferred but not required
