The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and leadership throughout the capital project cycle, ensuring compliance and operational readiness for biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities
Lead the conceptual, basic, and detailed design of biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities of various scales
Provide engineering knowledge and technical guidance throughout the entire capital project life cycle—from design and construction to qualification
Apply expertise in the biopharmaceutical industry and GMP environments to ensure compliance and operational readiness
Provide technical leadership and manage an internal team of subject matter experts from various engineering disciplines
Oversee the onboarding of external engineering firms and manage their performance, budget, and schedule throughout the project cycle
Engage with internal stakeholders and project teams to align project scope, drive decision-making, and ensure efficient project execution
Drive a high standard of quality and safety at all stages within the project life cycle to ensure full compliance and zero safety observations
Collaborate with Manufacturing (MFG), Process Development (PD), Site Engineering, and other functional groups to establish and lead technical initiatives for new business needs, operational efficiency improvements, and novel technology implementation
Support the department head with improving department influence, expanding team size, and building department standards
Ensure potential safety hazards are identified and maintain compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements during project delivery
Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to work closely with internal team members and various stakeholders in a dynamic environment
Qualification
Required
BSc. degree in an Engineering or science discipline is preferred
Must have knowledge of safety, quality, and environmental regulatory requirements to execute projects on site
Must be highly proficient in written and spoken English
Proven track record of successful management of a system &/or facility portfolio
Ability to negotiate through project challenges and deliver successful project outcomes with clients/customers, vendors, and contractors
Strong level of professional understanding of a project life cycle is required
A proven track record of delivering continuous improvement and value across multiple process streams and customers
Understand the multiple stages within the Project life cycle and the deliverables for same
Strong track record in execution of projects – on time, within budget to meet customer & end-users needs
Preferred
A postgraduate qualification in a relevant area of expertise (e.g., Business administration, project management) would be advantageous
Strong level of professional experience and strong track record in the management of detailed engineering project teams is desirable
