Responsibilities

Specification and acquisition of all radiation generating equipment
Calibration of the treatment machines
Acquisition and maintenance of all dosimetry and health-physics equipment
Review OSU radiation treatment charts
Instruct personnel in principles and regulations related to radiation therapy physics, dosimetry and radiation protection
Evaluate and interpret medical radiation treatment prescriptions
Collaborate with medical providers in the design and modification of effective radiation treatments for patients
Oversee and monitor treatment plans developed by Dosimetrists
Participate in development and execution of equipment monitoring, calibration, and safety surveys
Provide technical assistance in the development of treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy
Monitor patients
Maintain established policies, procedures, objectives, quality measurement, and safety
Perform clinical research as required

Required

Master of Science degree with math and physics concentration, preferably in Medical Physics
Specialization in clinical radiation, therapeutic physics
Extensive progressively responsible experience in Radiation Oncology, Clinical Physics and Radiation Therapy
Minimum of two years of clinical experience, either through previous work experience, or clinical Radiation Oncology Residency
ABR eligible at a minimum
If not currently ABR certified, it is expected that ABR certification will be obtained within 3 years of hire
