Responsibilities
Innovate, create, and evolve new product ideas using Voice of Customer (VOC) and related techniques to support aggressive growth objectives for a mature and highly profitable business
Design, build, and implement various mechanical systems with a focus on high performance industrial tool products
Conduct tests, collect data, and evaluate results by fully applying multiple analytical methods
Design, layout, test, and troubleshoot new and existing designs
Partner with product management team to translate product design features into engineering requirements and specifications
Drive sustaining improvements through failure mode analysis, performance optimization, and tradeoff studies
Partner with suppliers and contractors to ensure that the product is developed on time and on budget
Provide feedback and expertise in cross functional design reviews
Travel to customer and vendor sites as needed to trouble-shoot problems and resolve issues
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Up to 5 years of working experience with product design
Basic understanding of machining principles and capabilities
Must have a high degree of mechanical and technical aptitude
Must be well organized and able to work on and follow several projects simultaneously
Preferred
Experience with 3D Cad. Creo 8.0 or later preferred
Experience with SAP is preferred
