The Buildings Mechanical Engineer - Federal will ensure project compliance, manage project schedules, and oversee HVAC and plumbing system deliverables for new buildings and renovations, primarily serving U.S. Government agencies.

Responsibilities

Ensure project compliance with applicable codes and standards

Create and maintain project schedules for mid-size to large projects

Manage project team’s scope, schedule, budget and quality on assigned projects

Assist in the production of HVAC and plumbing system deliverables (Specifications, drawings, calculations, and basis of design documents) for new buildings as well as for renovation and additions to existing facilities

Actively coordinate with other disciplines, clients, and contractor on projects

Actively mentor / share knowledge with other staff members

Oversee the creation and analysis of project energy modeling and life cycle cost analysis utilizing Trace 3D and BLCC

Oversee creation of 2D drawings (such as P&IDS, control diagrams, and notes) in REVIT

Perform construction period services (review of submits, responses to RFI’s etc)

Present in front of large groups that include clients, peers, contractors, and end user groups

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an accredited program

Knowledge of building mechanical codes and ability to perform accurate load calculations

Strong HVAC / Plumbing design capability in industrial, commercial, central plants, boilers, chillers and other related markets

Knowledgeable in sustainable design

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Minimum Of 5 Years Related Work Experience

Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary
