Responsibilities
Design and implement AI initiatives from prototype to robust end-to-end solutions
Shape project approaches in alignment with agile principles
Lead the development and evolution of UCB’s Responsible AI framework, ensuring reliability, transparency, safety and security
Stay current with the AI solution ecosystem (technologies, vendors, frameworks) and identify opportunities for UCB
Promote AI capabilities and foster awareness across the organization
Identify and intake new AI opportunities aligned with strategic goals
Align stakeholders on end-to-end AI approaches and value generation
Coach junior colleagues and manage contractors
Anticipate and manage the impact of your work on the broader team and organization
Propose delivery options, including new collaborations and innovative ways of working
Qualification
Required
Minimum 10 years' IT experience and a bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field
Proven expertise in AI application development, including predictive, prescriptive and Generative AI
Hands-on software engineering experience with AI technologies such as python, graph and vector databases, search engines and agent frameworks
Experience with agile product management and iterative development
Preferred
Ability to craft elegantly simple solutions to complex problems with a test-driven mindset
High energy to champion ideas and drive meaningful impact in a dynamic corporate environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong commitment to ethical AI practices and stakeholder impact awareness
Understanding of the U.S. healthcare system and its data landscape is a plus
