Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a Secretary for their International Admissions & Enrollment department. This clerical position supports students qualifying under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act by performing various office and secretarial tasks, including arranging transportation, monitoring attendance, and collaborating with community partners.

Education

Responsibilities

Arranging transportation and meals

Monitoring attendance, graduation, and participation rates

Assisting with grant management and compliance

Collaborating with community partners

Maintaining demographic data

Coordinating training

Creating outreach materials

Representing the MVK unit at community, MCPS, and school events

Qualification

Required

High School or GED diploma required

One year experience in performing responsible clerical and secretarial work in a busy office environment

Considerable knowledge of business English, general vocabulary, spelling, and arithmetic

Working knowledge of secretarial procedures

Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures

Ability to provide timely and accurate office support services to staff

Ability to compose routine office correspondence

Ability to setup and maintain office files

Ability to manage office support services

Ability and skill in the proficient operation of desktop computer systems and common office equipment to needed to perform word processing or data system tasks required

Ability to communicate effectively required

Knowledge of and the ability to meet the seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS)

Preferred

Bilingual candidates who are fluent in Spanish and English desirable
