SSM Health-SLUCare is seeking an experienced advanced practice provider to join their growing service line, focusing on delivering advanced clinical care in the ICU for adult patients recovering from complex cardiac surgical procedures. The role involves collaborating with cardiothoracic surgeons and multidisciplinary teams, conducting patient assessments, and performing various medical procedures.

Responsibilities

Will work collaboratively with cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and the multi-disciplinary teams to deliver advanced clinical care to adult patients recovering from complex cardiac surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacement, and ECMO support

Conducts comprehensive patient assessments, develops and initiates treatment plans, manages mechanical circulatory device support (VV/VA ECMO, IABP, Impella device), titrates vasoactive medications

Performs procedures including central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube insertion and management, pacemaker management

Participates in multi-disciplinary rounds, engages in quality improvement initiatives, and provides patient/family education

Shift-based scheduled including rotating weekends and holidays

No call, no nights

Cardiothoracic Surgery experienceAcute Care CertifiedCertified Physician AssistantICU experiencePatient education

Required

Cardiothoracic Surgery experience

Nurse Practitioner must be Acute Care Certified or Certified Physician Assistant

Preferred

ICU experience is a plus
