Principal EQE Assembly Engineer- Development Module Assembly (Onsite)

Responsibilities

Interpretation of ap­proved technical data such as blue prints, web assembly drawings, table of limits, which flow down into process work instructions
Perform FECC (First Engine Configuration Check)/FCCA (First Configuration Check Audit) and controlled builds
Interpret temperature differential calculations, torque process and ba­sic assembly processes; review tool designs, mark-up prints, issue re­quest forms, track tool changes and correc­tions; perform neces­sary gage correlations; familiarity with write in's, swaps, and work order processes
Create, modify, and approve work instructions in both HMS and Solumina; support and assist in TAT (turn around time) reductions, on-time delivery goals and ergonomic improvements including process certification, PPAP for assembly & MRL requirements
Work with planner & production to ensure processes enable material flow and standard work
Coach and develop process planners for development assembly processing; support the Assembly Planner Team as a focal point for development software systems

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and 8 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related industrial environment OR a Master's degree and 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related industrial environment
Engine Quality Engineer in Process Planning or Quality Approval in Manufacturing Engineering
Knowledge and experience in the implementation of process improvements initiatives, strong coaching, communication, team and customer focus, and strong interpersonal and proven leadership skills
Familiarity with engine/modular assembly engineering
Working knowledge of shop practices, policies and procedures governing assembly engineering support requirements as well as work instruction documentation for assembly and manufacturing processes
Demonstrate ability to plan and prioritize
Secret Clearance OR be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Demonstrated skill and success in team leadership, facilitation, and coaching skills
Demonstrated flexibility / adaptability in high stress, ambiguous assignments
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (Lean Six Sigma/CORE)
