Responsibilities
Design of building systems, structural elements and connections under the supervision of a professional engineer by performing engineering calculations/analyse
Design structures of a variety of materials including steel, concrete, wood and masonry
Analyze existing structures for new uses and design repairs/reinforcement where required for existing conditions
Coordinate with other disciplines including architectural, mechanical and civil regarding the projects design
Provide construction administration assistance in responses to
Perform site visits, inspections and review of shop drawings
Prepare detailed design calculations and construction drawings
Qualification
Required
Strong all-around theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles
Ability to apply structural engineering principles to design of various elements
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) a must
Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering from an ABET accredited college
Preferred
EIT/FE certification or the ability to obtain certification within one year is preferred
Master's degree in structural engineering
