Mergers & Acquisitions Intern
HeartLand, LLC is a private equity-backed strategy focused on building a leading commercial landscape enterprise through acquisitions and organic growth. They are seeking eager and dynamic rising Juniors and Seniors for a paid Summer Analyst program to contribute to various functions of the organization, particularly in ongoing acquisitions and financial analysis.

Responsibilities
Assist in producing financial and strategic assessments of acquisition targets; will perform valuation analysis and generate financial and valuation models
Facilitate status update meetings and gain project management understanding and skills
Work directly with vendors in gathering information, recommending opportunities, and engaging in guided vendor negotiations
Document processes and procedures, and then analyze for efficiencies
Refine and maintain M&A opportunity database, including pertinent info. on the company, including key financial metrics, operations overview, etc
Create training and integration resources for various business functions which will be used by new acquisitions and current companies
Ad hoc analytics/reporting, special projects scheduling/coordinating, etc
Qualification
Required
Rising Juniors and Seniors
Solid analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate complex information effectively
Self-Starter, ability to immediately handle multiple projects simultaneously
Creative, energetic thinker, ability to work effectively absent step-by-step instructions; ability to think quickly and thoroughly
Strong attention to detail; ability to do deep analytical work
Natural aptitude for accuracy, organization and an adherence to deadlines
Ability to be ‘hands-on' and highly collaborative with problem solving
Excellent quantitative skills
Good organization and project planning skills; juggle multiple priorities
Preferred
Experience with or exposure to financial modeling, is a plus
Students studying Accounting, Analytics, Economics, Finance, Marketing, and other business or STEM-related fields will be given priority

The Analyst’s compensation will meet or exceed the average rates provided by the University for similar internships
The position offers limited unpaid vacation time and may afford some opportunities for travel
