Electrical Engineer I

Responsibilities

Support the design, assembly, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for R&D and pilot-scale chemical processing equipment
Assist in the development of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using CAD software
Help specify components and electrical hardware (motors, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, relays, etc.) based on system requirements
Conduct hands-on wiring, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and control panels
Support safety reviews and ensure electrical designs comply with relevant codes and standards (NFPA 70, NEC, etc.)
Collaborate with process and mechanical engineers to integrate electrical systems into fully functional units
Participate in testing of sensors, instrumentation, and control systems for real-time process monitoring
Maintain documentation of all electrical work including schematics, BOMs, and system settings
Troubleshoot and repair existing electrical systems and equipment as needed across both sites
Contribute to the continuous improvement of system reliability and scalability

Required

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
1–3 years of relevant experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or R&D environment (internship/co-op experience welcome)
Familiarity with low-voltage power systems, sensors, and motor control systems
Understanding of industrial safety and compliance standards (NEC, UL, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to get hands-on with real hardware
Ability to split time effectively between two physical locations (Burlington and Exeter)
Passion for building sustainable infrastructure and solving real-world engineering challenges

Preferred

Hands-on experience with electrical assembly, wiring, or panel building is strongly preferred
Proficiency with electrical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar)
