Responsibilities

Developing mechanical designs in support of various Buildings Design Business Line projects
Leading the planning, design, and commissioning of building HVAC system(s)
Leading the planning, design, and commissioning of building plumbing system(s)
Leading the planning, design, and commissioning of building fire protection system(s)
Whole building energy modeling
Building sustainability requirements reporting
Coordination with other support disciplines and regional offices
Assisting project managers in management of projects
Following quality assurance and quality control plans
Periodic travel to project sites

Qualification

Mechanical engineering principlesBuilding mechanical systemsBIM design softwareFundamentals of Engineering examLicensed Professional EngineerAutodesk RevitQuality assuranceContinuing educationCommunication skillsProject managementTime management

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus from an ABET accredited university or college
Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam
5-10 years of building design and construction industry experience
Must have a knowledge base of mechanical engineering principals related to building mechanical designs
Proven experience overseeing mechanical designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projects
Technically competent in building mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
Must have strong communication skills
Experience with Autodesk Revit
Must be proficient with MS Office Suite

Preferred

Licensed Professional Engineer
Experience with AIA MasterSpec
Knowledge of Federal Agencies design criteria
