College Aide
The City of New York's Department of Investigation is seeking four College Aides to assist in various roles related to investigations and operations. The College Aides will work on sensitive investigations, analyze financial records, and support IT projects while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities
Assist in developing investigative plans and strategies; identify, obtain, and analyze relevant evidence and records; and conduct interviews
Prepare investigative files, to include proper handling, filing, of current and closed investigations
Work with other investigative, law enforcement, and prosecutorial agencies
Work on multi-disciplinary teams with other DOI investigators, auditors, and city agency staff
Analyze financial information such as revenue and expense projections and reconcile financial statements
Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, invoices, and other documents
Participate in Internal Audit and Risk activities, such as risk assessments, internal audit projects and aggregate, analyze and visualize risk data
Research laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures, and external regulatory documents to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations, specifically pertaining to federal forfeiture funds
Assist in planning, execution, and completion of IT projects and collaborate with project teams to ensure project goals are achieved
Work with senior IT staff in Cyber Security to implement system upgrades and patches to ensure network security and optimal performance
Collaborate with the development team on coding, testing, and debugging software applications
Assist end-users by troubleshooting hardware and software issues and respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely manner
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and applications
Assist with inventory and analyze inventory data
Qualification
Required
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school
For Assignment Level II (Information Technology): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study
For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study
Ability to analyze, assess, and draw conclusions based on a multitude of complex documents and data, including but not limited to policies, procedures, and financial documents
Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and databases
Strong interpersonal skills, oral communication, and interviewing skills
Ability to write succinct and organized reports
Ability to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential matters
Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage time efficiently, meet deadlines, and multi-task
