Responsibilities

Conduct research in a scientific area of relevance to the CCM and/or develop and implement novel algorithms and codes needed for CCM-related research
Publish research in refereed scientific and technical journals and present research at scientific conferences
Provide publicly available software for use by the scientific community
Manage and participate in collaborative efforts within the Flatiron Institute and the Simons Foundation, as well as outside scientific collaborators
Assist in the organization of CCM-related workshops, conferences and group seminars
Supervise research conducted by Flatiron research fellows and graduate and undergraduate students from neighboring institutions
Mentor summer students and assist in the organization of summer programs
Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required

Required

An earned doctorate in computer science or closely related area of computational science and engineering is required
Two or more years of postgraduate research experience
Ability to do original and outstanding research in machine learning
Demonstrated expertise in software and algorithm development, computational methods, data analysis, modeling, machine learning, high-performance and parallel computing, or scientific simulation
Expertise in mathematical modeling, analysis and/or scientific computation, scientific software and algorithm development, and data analysis
Ability to work well in an interdisciplinary environment, and to collaborate with experimentalists
Oral and written communication, data documentation, and presentation skills required
Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time required
Ability to present research and other types of work, internally and externally
