Veritiv is a leading full-service provider of packaging solutions, and they are seeking a Corporate Transportation Specialist Intern to support their operations related to third-party freight shipments. This role involves optimizing logistics services, reducing transportation costs, and streamlining processes while collaborating with various internal teams.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with multiple internal customers on projects and presentations

Identify opportunities to streamline process improvements

Take ownership of a project and then assist other team members to support company initiatives

Optimize and streamline a Transportation process, implementing a new SOP based upon your findings

Support execution for the strategy of transacting all third-party freight in a common Transportation Management System

Liaison between Veritiv’s suppliers, sales force, operations, inventory team and our 3rd Party Carriers

Determine lowest-cost carrier and best mode of transportation for Veritiv’s third-party core shipments

Communicate with assigned division Logistics Managers to examine results and improvement opportunities

Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external merchants

Provide tracking updates to merchants or suppliers when necessary

Identify cost-saving opportunities within the supply chain
