Cardiac Ultrasound Tech

Responsibilities
Performing professional quality cardiac ultrasound procedures including M-MODE, 2D (real time), PW/CW DOPPLER, COLOR FLOW IMAGING, STRESS ECHOES, TRANSESOPHAGEAL AND CONTRAST ULTRASOUND studies
Preparing the patient for examination by explaining the procedure, acquiring demographic information, clinical history, and correlating symptoms with findings
Recognizing abnormal pathology and demonstrating correlation of this information into a useful study, generating a permanent record of the examination on the digital PACS system and hardcopy
Preparing an initial report for the Cardiologist to read
Initiating direct notification to the cardiologist for issues requiring immediate attention
Participating as a member of the Cardiac Ultrasound team, assisting in all aspects of the delivery of services to patients and physicians
Qualification
Required
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Associates Degree - Required
Three to five years Cardiac ultrasound experience required with knowledge of M-MODE, 2-D, COLOR FLOW IMAGING and Doppler
Preferred
Registered in Cardiac Ultrasound preferred
Experience with transesophageal imaging preferred
Experience with stress echo preferred
