Intern II - Operations & Maintenance

Trinity River Authority of Texas is seeking an Intern II for Operations & Maintenance, primarily for entry-level, temporary/seasonal work. The role involves assisting in routine maintenance tasks, monitoring plant operations, and performing general housekeeping duties under supervision.

Responsibilities

Assist with routine preventive maintenance and repair to existing buildings, machinery and equipment
Perform general maintenance to grounds including mowing, edging, weed eating, digging, and operation of related equipment
Assist with carpentry, painting, plumbing, grounds and welding work
Assist with maintaining thorough and complete process records and logs
Observe all safety guidelines and security measures established by the Authority
Participate in project team meetings and discussions
Assist with monitoring plant operations, instrumentation and laboratory test results
Assist with taking samples at various points in the plant process
Under the direction of a C level or greater operator, may assist with adjusting plant flows and treatment process conditions
Assist with maintaining thorough and complete process records and logs
Assist with routine preventive maintenance and repair to existing wastewater collections system infrastructure
Assist with repairs and/or replaces manhole covers, frames and vaults
Assist with documentation and record-keeping activities and work performed and data entry into the computerized maintenance management system
Observe, record and report potential problem areas and any unusual or accidental spills or discharges into the collection system or receiving streams

Required

High school diploma
Valid Texas driver's license
Basic knowledge in area required by the position
Knowledge of basic mathematical calculations
Must be able to evaluate situations and analyze problems to make decisions necessary for corrective measures with some direction
Follow standard operation procedures
