Responsibilities
This role is a Responsible Engineer (RE) focuses on the integration of turbomachinery into our hybrid aircraft
Full ownership over design, fabrication, and certification of the hybrid powertrain
Lead the design of turbomachinery, including combustion systems, fluid analysis, exhaust, high-speed rotating machinery, and similar
Lead and execute system-level tests, such as engine and propeller test stands
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure delivery of integrated, certifiable subsystems
Model the gas turbine in to our high fidelity digital twin for optimization of our hybrid mission profile
Qualification
Required
5+ years of professional experience working with propulsion components such as gas turbines, thermal management systems, propellers, and ancillary systems
Hands-on experience with propulsion or powertrain test stands, including instrumentation, controls, and mechanical assembly
Experience with CAD (e.g., Siemens NX), Python, system integration, and PLM tools
Proficient with static and dynamic structural analysis through simulations on either of Ansys, Nastran, or Abaqus
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Mechatronics Engineering (or similar)
Preferred
Understanding of certification requirements (EASA CS-23/25 or FAA FAR Part 23/25)
Knowledge of drivetrain dynamics, rotor balancing, or propeller aerodynamics
Demonstrated leadership qualities through cross-functional teamwork on challenging problems
