Responsibilities
Prepare mechanical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications, project schedules, and cost estimates to meet project requirements
Provide technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work
Provide technical training and development of staff
Assist in establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications
Serve as Engineer of Record
Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates
Coordinate with all the disciplines involved, including outside consultants
Provide technical interface with code officials and contractors
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
Professional Engineer's license. Existing licensure in NC and/or VA is preferred
15+ years of technical experience in the design of healthcare systems
Self-motivated and well organized
Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Experience in the design of institutional, educational, healthcare, laboratory, and military projects is desired
