Cherokee Federal is seeking a Legal Intern for their Summer 2026 cohort, providing a valuable opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a global business environment. The intern will assist in various legal tasks, including document review, legal research, and compliance support, while working closely with the legal team on impactful projects.

Responsibilities

Assist in reviewing, drafting, and editing various legal documents, including contracts, NDAs, and corporate policies

Conduct legal research on regulatory requirements, case law, and relevant legal issues affecting the company’s operations

Support the legal team in managing corporate governance documents, such as board minutes, resolutions, and company filings

Help ensure the company’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies

Assist with due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other business transactions

Participate in internal legal department meetings and external meetings with stakeholders as needed

Work with the legal team to develop training materials on legal topics relevant to the company

Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the legal team

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in Law (JD or LLB) or related field from an accredited university

Strong research, writing, and analytical skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive legal information

Preferred

Prior internship or work experience in a legal environment

Knowledge of corporate law, contract law, or intellectual property law

Familiarity with legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)
