Assistant Visiting Professor in Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences

The University of Missouri-Columbia is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences for a 12-month position starting in Fall 2025. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, providing clinical education, and mentoring students in the areas of Voice and Swallow Disorders.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Voice, Dysphagia, Medical Speech Language Pathology, and/or related course work
Provide clinical education in our onsite Speech and Hearing Clinic
Engage in service to the department, college, and/or profession
Provide academic advising and mentorship to students
Contribute to departmental initiatives and curriculum development
Opportunities for research and/or research collaborations

Qualification

Ph.D. in Speech-Language PathologyCertification in Speech-Language PathologyClinical education experienceTeaching excellenceResearch experience

Required

Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a closely related field (ABD considered if degree awarded prior to Fall 2025)
Evidence of excellence in teaching at the university level
Certification in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or Audiology (CCC-A) and eligibility for state licensure
Experience with clinical education and eligible to perform supervision per ASHA requirements
A record of some research and/or scholarly activities
