Responsibilities
Inspects and tests coated or uncoated wire and cable for such properties as electrical resistance, size, and tactile inspection to verify their conformance to specifications
Reads written specifications or receives oral instructions and determines work aids required and inspection procedures
Measures wire/cable for size, and defects using micrometers and fixed gauges
Examines wire for defects, such as pits, scratches, and burnt surfaces
Records test results and informs supervisor when wire varies from specifications
Respools cables according to customers specification and perform final inspections of spools
Any other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualification
Required
Six months to one year of work experience is preferred
Demonstrates ability to self-motivate and to problem solve in a fast-paced setting
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Must have good documentation practice
A proven understanding of part workmanship
Must be capable and willing to share knowledge and train associates
Ability to analyze data and make recommendations
Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing defects
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to seek and accept feedback from others
Ability to speak, read, and write in English
High school diploma or equivalent
