Houston Site Controller

Responsibilities
Partner with the site leadership team to deliver actionable insights and support strategic initiatives
Act as the financial steward for the Houston plant, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and industry standards
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes to drive cost efficiencies and profitability
Develop and maintain accurate cost accounting systems tailored to manufacturing operations
Manage product costing and inventory valuation, ensuring financial transparency and alignment with production activities
Conduct detailed root cause analyses to address cost variances and improve operational efficiency
Perform thorough investigations to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data
Ensure robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain audit readiness
Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization, from plant operators to senior executives
Provide training and support to site personnel to improve financial literacy and adherence to processes
Act as the primary liaison between the plant and corporate finance teams, ensuring smooth communication and alignment
Leverage SAP and other ERP systems to enhance reporting accuracy and streamline workflows
Identify and implement best practices to optimize financial processes and drive continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Ability to work 5 days/week onsite at our Houston plant
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in Site Controller roles, preferably in multinational companies within the manufacturing or specialty chemicals industry
Proven expertise in cost accounting, product costing, and inventory management in a mid-size manufacturing environment
Strong skills in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
Proactive and independent, with an ownership mentality
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization
Strong leadership abilities, capable of managing stakeholders and influencing decision-making
Preferred
Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems
