Director I, Engineering Management - Data Centers

They are seeking an accomplished Engineering / Design Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team in the design and development of data center facilities and infrastructure systems, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and effective project execution.

Responsibilities
Manage the entire design process, from concept to detail design and construction support, ensuring adherence to life sciences industry regulations and standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Construction, Procurement, Contracts, Quality, Project Controls, HSE, HR, IT and CQV, to align design objectives and project requirements
Develop project plans, allocate resources effectively, and develops/manage project budgets to ensure successful project execution
Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and proactively implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensure project deliverables are met
Collaborate with stakeholders to set project priorities, manage expectations, and provide regular updates on project status
Act as a leader in applying Cost Competitive Execution techniques and develop the most cost-effective total project solution for the discipline engineering work
Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects
Develop and review estimates and schedules, progress reports, including workforce forecasts
Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and twenty (20) years of work-related experience
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials
Project set-up, developing control-level schedules, progress reporting and project close-out
Practical field experience
Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting
Data Center Engineering Procurement Construction Experience
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, such as FDA guidelines, ISO standards, and other relevant regulations, throughout the design process
Establish and maintain Fluor quality processes and procedures to ensure the delivery of safe and effective products
Lead risk management activities: risk assessment, risk analysis, and risk mitigation strategies
Translate global strategic initiatives into procedures to be implemented on projects
Conduct design reviews, identify risks, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines, budgets and quality standards
Stay updated on the latest advancements, emerging technologies, and industry best practices related to life sciences engineering design
Provide technical guidance and support to the team in resolving complex design challenges
