Responsibilities
Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
Maintain and operate sterilization equipment including autoclaves, sterilizers, washers, and ultrasonic cleaners
Ensure proper handling and storage of sterile supplies
Conduct routine checks and maintenance of sterilization equipment
Keep accurate records of sterilization procedures and inventory levels
Follow all infection control and safety procedures to maintain a sterile environment
Collaborate with surgical and medical staff to meet equipment needs
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED equivalent
At least 1 year of experience in a sterile processing environment
Must have one of the following certifications: Certified Board Sterile Processing & Distribution (CBSPD), Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician (CSPDT), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to work flexible hours including possible evenings and weekends
