Network Engineer (Senior-Level)
Link Solutions, Inc. delivers reliable Information Technology services to government clients. They are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, operate, optimize, and sustain Extreme Networks infrastructure for the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, ensuring secure and high-performance network operations.

Responsibilities
Monitor, test, and analyze all elements of the network facilities
Identify and resolve hardware and software issues related to the commercial network’s wireless and hardwired elements
Perform tuning, optimization, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Extreme hardware/software
Perform traffic/capacity analysis, trend analysis, and performance monitoring
Conduct software release planning, documentation, and license management
Serve as Senior Network Architect for Extreme Networks infrastructure
Lead high-priority network projects and upgrades using Extreme devices
Serve as the primary on-site escalation contact for Extreme products and issues
Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to DLIFLC IT staff
Ensure 99%+ network uptime and proactively mitigate risks
Submit weekly reports and coordinate with Extreme Networks Global TAC
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Active Secret Clearance
IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.)
Certified to work on Extreme Networks products, such as switches, routers, access points, and network management tools
CCNA Certification or equivalent
BA/BS degree in IT, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience, OR AA/AS with seven (7+) years of experience
Ten (10+) years of relevant network engineering experience, including Extreme Networks systems
Proven experience in LAN/WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security
Experience managing large-scale network upgrades, migrations, and expansions
Computing environment certificate (CCSP, CISSP, CCNP, etc.) or equivalent within 6 months of hire
Experience with the following: Extreme Networks: L2/3, MLXE Switches, Extreme IQ, OSPF, BGP, MPLS
Experience with VMware NSX: Install, Configure, Manage
Experience with Ruckus: L2 Switches, Wireless Controllers, Access Points
Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls: PA-7050/3060/3260/5450, WildFire, URL Filtering
Experience with Brocade MPLS Layer 2/3 switches
Experience with Cisco routers and switches
Experience with Aruba Networks: Wireless Controllers, Airwave, ClearPass
Experience with Ciena DWDM: 100G OME 6500
Experience with network monitoring: SolarWinds, InMon Sentinel, Uptrends
Preferred
CE/OS Certification (Computing Environment/Operating System)
Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment
A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems
Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
