Registered Polysomnograpic Tech - North Sleep Lab - Full-Time
Erlanger is a healthcare provider seeking a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist to work under general medical supervision. The role involves performing and evaluating overnight polysomnograms and operating sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology while ensuring patient safety and care.

Responsibilities
Independently perform and evaluate overnight polysomnograms, MSLT's and oximetries
Operate sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology
Administer oxygen and positive airway pressure devices in accordance with established protocols
Apply recording devices to the patient
Perform cleaning/disinfecting of equipment
Recognize sleep pathology when it occurs and respond with appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate for the age of the patient
Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the information to identify each patient's requirements for care
Assist and oversee the selection of a suitable course of action when necessary
Assist in the implementation of clinical protocols
Participate in the development and implementation of inservice education
Make recommendations for continuing education
Accurately and reliably stage and score polysomnogram recordings with a high degree of accuracy
Prepare clinical reports for physician interpretation
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of sleep pathology and treatment options for the varying sleep disorders
Qualification
Required
High school education or its equivalent
Current on testing equipment with 6 months experience
Current Certificate for Registered Polysomnographic Technologist and licensed in the State of Tennessee
Preferred
Completion of an AMA approved program in polysomnography, EEG, or Respiratory Care
