Transmission Engineer - Transmission (St. Louis, Columbus, Akron)
Burns & McDonnell is looking for a staff Transmission Line Engineer to join their Transmission & Distribution division. The role involves designing high and extra-high voltage transmission lines and preparing construction documents while collaborating effectively with clients and team members.

Responsibilities
Design of high and extra-high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD
Prepare construction documents including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings
Prepare specifications and project design criteria
Provide field support during construction
The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with clients as well as provide technical leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members
Experience in HVDC is a plus
Occasional travel to client and project locations will be expected
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience
3 years related transmission line design experience
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience in scheduling and budgeting
Ability to work in a team environment
Preferred
Experience in HVDC is a plus
Consulting or utility experience preferred
