Ulteig is currently seeking a Civil/Structural Engineering Intern to join their Substation Department for Summer 2026. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the design and analysis of utility and renewable power infrastructure while working under the supervision of experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

Assist with the design and analysis of structural components for 69kV – 345kV substations, including steel structures and foundations

Support transmission line projects ranging from 34.5kV to 345kV for both utility and renewable energy systems

Complete design engineering tasks such as drawing markups, as-building support, project scoping, and estimating

Collaborate with engineers to deliver project assignments on schedule and according to design standards

Participate in site visits and training opportunities, gaining exposure to real-world infrastructure and field data collection

Learn to apply relevant codes, standards, and structural design principles used in high-voltage electrical infrastructure
